The domination of the Highway men was such that they were 4 up in the first half with goals from, Ali down the middle (who is a frightening sight for a forty-year old defender let alone a junior half his size bearing down on you!), a well-judged angled shot from Josh and 2 more traditional finishes from good interplay from Dan and Simon.
The second half continued much as the first with goals from Dan, Chris Hall and Ali.
Greg, who was keeping goal in Tom’s absence, had a relatively quiet afternoon defending the goal against the half a dozen shots that came his way with ease. The exception was when, in the second half, after defending a “pinball” of four rapid shots a yard or two from the goal line, Anchorians managed their only goal.
It was a pleasure to play on Anchorians’ new pitch. Good humour, good spirit and light touch umpiring made a great contribution too.
The score line does not flatter the Highwaymen – indeed there were potentially twice as many times to score. Neither does the score-line reflect the quality and commitment of the opposition. It was just as well that the Highwaymen travelled with a strong squad because while the Anchorians were out gunned they never let their heads drop – they challenged to the final issue. They have some very talented young players.

Unanimous Man of the Match Josh Clark who grows in stature and confidence every game and kept pressure on the Anchorians for 70 minutes.
