Vets celebrate Captain’s Birthday

The only thing that was miserable about the game was the weather nonetheless it brought the best out of the Vets.

The eventual outcome was certainly not clear for the first 10 minutes. Sevenoaks look strong and capable. As the game developed Sevenoaks could not break down the defence with Ravi doing a faultless sweeping job whenever they thought they had broken through.
When the goals came they came at a steady rate and as a result of good build up with many rightly claiming assists.

From his defensive position Ravi opened the scoring! Pat scored the second before half time.
The second half saw goals from Lee, Jason, Pat and Chris. There would have been a 7th had not Stephen blocked a shot on an open goal from Andy with his thigh!

Maybe we got complacent but Sevenoaks got a second wind and applied pressure resulting in 2 goals from short corners and one from a penalty flick.

Tony Johnson made a “guest” appearance in goal and played a key part in defence.

It was a good natured and competitive game well umpired by the Blackheath trio of Mark, Steve and Richard – thank you gentlemen.
