WELL AND TRULY BEATEN

What is there to say about a 7-0 defeat by Folkestone. The Vets came up against a development squad with the same qualities of last seasons Gore Court - well controlled by a core of very strong senior players with the balance of some very good youngsters. 4 of their goals came from short corners 3 from open play.

We were down 3-0 at half time, so we decided to strengthen our defence only to conceed 4 in the second half!

The Vets had few chances which if taken would have been good for self respect if not enough to win.

Without the superb efforts of Tom Cooper and Stu Macdonald and 100% commitment by the rest of the squad it would have have been an even more convincing drubbing.

Despite the score line it was a good game to play in - bring on the second half of the season.
