15.55, cold, wet, windy and under flood lights - what could be more tantalizing?
The Highwaymen uncharacteristically went ahead with a scrambled goal from Matt Robinson within 20 minutes. We looked evenly matched with an Ashford development team and then it all changed. Ashford hustled in the the Highwaymen D and were awarded 7 short corners and converted 3! On balance the opposition spent the best part of 70% of the match in the home sides half. In the end, their keeper was the coldest person on the pitch have little or nothing to do in the second half.
This game was the second loss on the trot and a pattern has been developing. A list of players which looks like a strong squad on paper doesn't mean the Highwaymen were fielding a strong team.
This week we fielded 12 made possible by the support Zac Gauge, Stu McDonald and Matt Southgate doubling up. However, with 6 key players either unavailable or injured we have lost a team which started the season so strongly. It looks like we are not going to be linine
