Sutton Valence 3 Highwaymen 3

For once a game in daylight. It was just as well as the Highwaymen had to pick their way through the aftermath of Eunice. While the lanes were "clear" there was a lot of debris to be avoided.
On arrival we were advised the pitch was "characteristically" slippery - and it was as pretty well every player, SV and Highwaymen, spent time on their backsides!
Now for the game.
It was clear that Highwaymen had the measure of the home side - provided they kept discipline and concentration. This was the case for much of the game and it paid back with 3 goals.
The first goal resulted by was a well-paced pass from Andy Rose to Paul Whitney, who shot, and Andy Moore tapped it in at far post. The second and third goals came in the second half. The second goal was scrambled in by Paul Whitney. The final, and what was expected to be the winner, came from Matt Robinson.
The Highwaymen led 3-2 until the closing minutes when Sutton Valence equalised!
Although the final result was a draw it felt like a loss.
Fortunately, the feeling of failure was eased somewhat by pints and sausage beans and chips at the Queens Head and in front of an open fire!
