Highway robbery!

The Highwaymen wrapped warmly (with the exception of Hector who thought track suit bottoms was for sissies) for another late (14.45) start under lights.

The opposition fielded a very tasty squad who were certainly a cut above the team we beat at home 5-3! To say they dominated the game was a fair description. They had so many short corners the writer lost count! The thin "white" line, however, held fast exactly as it did the week before.

By contrast the Highwaymen fought their way into the oppositions half on a number of occasions only to be pressed back again.

Against this background, in the first half the Highwaymen made one perfectly executed attack, building from the back ending with a perfect finish by Matt Robinson. Old Willie's were stunned. They had conceded the only goal of the game.

The game will be remembered for the great character the Highwaymen showed. The opposition clearly felt they would beat the Highwaymen. As the second half developed the more frustrated Old Willie's became the deeper the Highwaymen dug giving no quarter.

At the end both sides had given their best, both sides were exhausted but the Highwaymen had the biggest grins!
