After last weekend’s huge win, the 3s were fired up and ready to carry on the momentum of the season against Gore Court.
Early movement in the forwards and good distribution through the midfield led to a ball in from Campbell and a through the legs deflection by Jagger. The Gore Court keeper got the ball stuck under his feet and put the ball in his own net.
Soon after, Cleall’s effort was disallowed for a back stick in the build up but the link up play and a cross-pitch ball to the back post were making the 3s look dangerous.
Relentless pressure from the 3s was then rewarded with a short corner, which Hutchings slotted in the bottom right leaving the keeper no chance. This meant the 3s went into half time feeling confident of their performance.
The first 20 of the second half passed with a few missed opportunities for the 3s before some tiki-taka through the midfield with a Surry slap from the edge of the D reopened the scoring.
In the last 5 minutes, Thorogood put in a deflection and a rebound and had a third disallowed for a foot in the build up, denying him a 5 minute hat-trick.
A comfortable 5-0 win that could have easily been 7. Great performance all round.
