Green Shoots

BEs were eager and ready for the season’s first match.
The game started like a ‘knit one drop one’ pattern with both sides challenging at every manoeuvre.
Goalie Sarah cleared her goal amazingly, every intrusive attempt on goal by Burnt Ash was sent packing. Then Karen, passed to Laura who hit at left post for Gina to deflect loudly behind the goalie for goal number one. Determined play by everyone followed, special mention of Melody and Heather’s dominance on the wing, passing ball to Chloe on the forward line to allow majestic things to flow down the right. Everyone worked to penultimate fatigue. Laura was drained by the end but still added immense value. Ella also kept running whilst the firm and integral manoeuvres of Nat, Charlotte and Rachel, rendered Burnt Ash quite the holey jumper, allowing the ever-threatening Karen to crack in an amazing ball which Gina defected behind the goalie once again.

Laura was voted Player of the Match for her total skill and ability to work on rubber legs. Gina was given Wally of the Match for no credible reason.
