We Dropped a Stitch!

As with last week’s game, BEs started with a ‘knit one drop one’ pattern, with both sides challenging at every manoeuvre. Then a light shone over Laura, whose ‘Dam buster’ hit met Gina’s stick mid-flight for goal number one, supreme joy. Frantic knitting took place as HSBC were clearly spooked and, despite every effort to enjoy their lead, HSBC equalised within two minutes. Then, as is the want of opposition clearly of first-team calibre, HSBC worked BEs out, pressed harder, kept the ball and passed through channels created by leaky defence. Despite the game’s mesh-like product, BEs worked hard all the way, leading to Gina’s second goal and lessons a plenty.

Heidi was voted Player of the Match for her excellent knitting skills under pressure. Karen was given Wally of the Match for audible breakfast digestion.

Final Score: Blackheath 2-4.
