WELCOME TO THE JUNIOR SECTION

Blackheath & Elthamians Hockey Club Junior Section: Boys & Girls

We offer coaching sessions and competitive matches for boys and girls aged 5 to 16 of throughout the hockey season. We welcome children who have never played before and are keen to learn to children that have played and are keen to join a club. We have over 240 members who come from over 42 schools. We play at College Meadow astro which is located at Marvel's Lane SE12. Coaching sessions run every Sunday morning and some midweek evenings. The season starts at the beginning of September and runs through until March just before the Easter holidays.

We welcome new players to join so if you'd like to give a hockey a try you can attend the first two sessions without commitment. Please contact juniors membership to register your interest. We will aim to respond to any messages within 3 days. Please provide the following information by email:

If you decide you want to join after your first two sessions please let our secretary know and we can explain the official registration process.

Boys and Girls will also be involved in Sunday Leagues and Competitions which vary for each age group. Our aim is to provide coaching for each age group each week irrespective of whether matches are being held, although there may be exceptions. Lead coaches in each group will keep players informed of match details and competitions.

Each age group will have its own appointed, fully qualified Coaches who will be a members of BEHC. The Coaching set up will be coordinated and overseen by the BEHC Head Coaches but implemented by the appointed age group Coaches under their guidance. Each age group also has an assigned Team Manager to help with any queries you may have within your child's designated age group.

Our Junior Welfare Officer for the Junior Section is: Susan Marsters. BEHC follow the England Hockey governing body guidelines on protecting and safeguarding young people in sport. Further information, polices and guidelines can be obtained upon membership and in the website in the Information/Documents/Safeguarding section of the website. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact our Junior Welfare Officer.

Our aim is for you/your child to benefit from good coaching, comradeship, and enjoyment so they can reach their personal goal (at whatever level that may be) in playing one of the best team sports - Hockey.
