The excellent Clubhouse, Seminar and pitch facilities at College Meadow were the perfect host for this much sought after and prestigious England Hockey Level 2 Coaching Course. The split practical and theoretical course took full advantage of the astroturf and adjacent clubhouse facilities as particpants put their classroom work into use on the pitch throughout the four days. The weather was kind and much of the practical work was blessed with glorious sunshine.

The immensley experienced EH Centrally Contracted Coaches Steve Hardy and Sue Perry were the lead trainers for the course and brought a wealth of insight to all those involved. A total of 24 particpiants from Clubs and Schools all over the Country took part sharing experiences, knowledge and skills.

Four talented Level 1 Coaches who are members of BOEHC and are involved in Junior Coaching at the Club took part in the course as BOE actively expands the experience and qualifications of its Coaching personnel.

The EH Level 2 qualification is for those who wish to coach the techniques of the game beyond an introductory level and apply them to tactical play and the coaching of teams.
The course involved approx 32 hours of tutored pitch-time and theory work. A further 6 hours of practical coaching, some of which will be mentored, takes place following the course and prior to final assessments: one with adults and one with children.
Once learners have successfully completed both assessments they will be awarded the Level 2 in Hockey Coaching.

BOEHC looks forward to welcoming England Hockey back to College Meadow in the near future as a preferred venue for a host of coaching, courses, seminars and workshops.
