BEs were playing the second from top team under grey skies and permanent drizzle. It wasn’t the best of conditions but play proceeded cautiously before Anchorians did what they have been doing best all season. After three goals went against them, BEs moved to a higher plane and it showed with some beautiful passes, positioning and attack. BEs kept delivering a quality performance and every player gave more than a few extra ounces against a relentless, scoring machine. They were rewarded by a hard-working Cleona who scooped up a ball, manoeuvred around the oppo and scored the most brilliant and wanted of goals.
Player of the Match went to Heather, Melody, ‘Cesca and Leah for persistent and productive performances as mid fielders under constant pressure. Wally of the Match did not go to Kirsty, for a change.
Final Score Blackheath 1-7.
