BEs started their match with a thorough verbal reminder of the need to maintain possession, position and aggression. This was evident from the whistle and was indeed maintained throughout, gasp breaks aside. CV were a well-rehearsed side who took the game through, over and around players which made for a physical game. They scored two goals in the first half, but Sue kept out thrice that. The defence played amazingly, as did the whole team. Not one inch of pitch saw static play. The second half began to look like BEs might get rewarded for their endeavours. Their goal was scored by Aoife, ably deposited to her stick by Claire, coming after some amazing passing, tackling, hunting and wanting. It was all laid on the line, but another goal proved elusive.
Wally of the Match went to Emily for not being there to receive a Player of the Match award. Players of the Match also went to Leah, Lula and Melody for great positioning, possession and aggression.
