Eleven glistening diamonds!

Warming up in light rain only served to bring the shine on to the Diamonds, whose goalie, Sue, was determined to shine brighter than ever. Alas, she was thwarted by our super defence line (Ali, Cat B & Daphne)and had just one save to make at the end of the second half.
As the rain left and the sun shone, the Diamonds sparkled brighter than ever. Karen was in scoring mood & her hat-trick came in short order. Not to be out-done Netty scored 2 and Emily, who was playing like a demon Diamond, set up several goals and scored her own.
Back to hockey was the real winner this weekend as Claire, a returner after ‘several years’ off the pitch played a determined blinder and scored a goal and earned her Player of the Day.
Some great passes in to the circle, across the goal mouth left Sandra and Abi frustrated and goal-less: so near, yet so far. We improved our mid-field gap this week, with great comms and short passes - Kat A always in the right place at the right time: she’s a real gem.
Mascot Tommy arrived at the dugout for the second half. Surrounded by kit bags, for safety, he couldn’t resist snaffling the ball as it flew behind him. Reluctant to give it up, Cat B retrieved it and the game continued.
A 0-7 win in a game that counts towards league position is gold to the Diamonds. Sign up TODAY to play with us next week - we need you!
