Having had this game rearranged from the pre Xmas frost, it was key to get the 2nd half of the season underway in the right fashion. The BEHC boys did just that. A pulsating game at Holly Bush Lane saw the boys score 3 goals either side of half time with the three youngsters putting on a display to savour.
After early BE pressure, Sevenoaks won a corner and duly took the lead with a low drag flick to the bottom right. BE did not get frustrated and continued with their fine passing game which culminated in Egan scoring the equaliser having pounced on a sharp rebound chance. Within moments BE took the lead as the marauding Lewis Burnham latched onto the ball in the circle and fired bottom right. First half pressure was maintained with Tom Archer latching onto a rebound in the circle and finishing to get 2023 up and running with a goal for our No.23.
The second half would start in similar fashion as the home side scored form a PC drag flick but the boys would roar back into action once more with Egan firing in an up right reverse stick volley. Skipper Morrison would pounce on a PC deflection to make it 5 and after some electric dribble form Blue Collard, Dave Lawrence tapped in at the far post to make it 6 and a Happy New Year indeed.
This was by far our best performance of the season thus far and lays the foundations for the 2nd half of the season.
OG's at home 3pm, Saturday.
