Match Report: Andy Slack
2nd XI's Ground Hog Day away to Cliftonville!
Better discipline and overall a good team performance. However, a slow start and two goals against the run of play early in the first half was painful. A spirited effort to make amends fell short despite many short-corners and open play opportunities. Cliftonville's keeper had blinder and was the difference on the day. Our own keeper James also made some excellent saves. Scott Dow was immense in the tackle and driving forward. Gurpreet put in a remarkable performance on debut and should be a regular face in the future. Alex, Prem and Ed Bull in midfield never stopped. The young guns in Josh and Jake were superb again. They were really well supported by Archie and Will P. It's early days. The last three results poorly reflect the dominant play we have produced. I very much enjoyed my stand-in skipper role, but fortunately our leader returns from Bokland this week and the tide should turn. I'll end the match report with a quote from Bill Murray, which is well worth remembering......"I made a lot of mistakes and realized I had to let them go. Don't think about your errors or failures, otherwise you'll never do a thing."
