It's always sunny in Sittingbourne

With captain and vice captain both on exotic holidays, some said Seville, others said Lewisham, the photos on WhatsApp were inconclusive. Unsure of their leader's true location the 2s headed to the coast in search of sun and sand of their own.

Without anyone to rein him in this week player/coach/stand in captain Jade Bloomfield shuffled the pack, 6 new faces and a new formation. After an extended warm up the team were ready for action and the game got underway.

Old Bords drew first blood via a short corner that Nathan Bullens did well to save, however he couldn't do anything about the rebound.

Blackheath were a goal behind early on, however there was a lot to be positive about. People were learning each others names, the work rate was high and the chances were coming.

The bell rung for half time, but Blackheath had nothing to show for it yet. Bloomfield bellowed his approval, the game was there for the taking.

Fired up from the team talk Blackheath took matters into their own hands and laid siege to the Old Bords D. A flurry of short corners were awarded and Blackheath sensed something was coming. With his own motivating words still loud in his ear Jade Bloomfield stepped up and guided the ball into the back of the net. The tide had turned.

Both teams had a goal each and wanted more so the game opened up. There was ebb and flow, cut and thrust, plenty of marauding down the wings, and end to end hockey from both teams, but no more goals. With time running out, Dan Moore appeared from no where and unleashed a shot... GOAL. The Marly went wild. Blackheath had come from behind to clinch a deserved win and take the spoils back to London.

MoM went to Nick Charlish for an all action display and the speed of his recovery from landing on his head. DoD was a two horse race between Joe Allen, for hitting the ball into Marly's back, and Will Godsiff, for forgetting his astros, Will clinched it 6-5.
