One to forget

A lovely crisp Saturday afternoon at Avery Hill seemed like a great way for the 2s to continue their fine form.
This indeed seemed set to be the case after only 5 minutes of good pressure we were up 1-0 following a good cross from Tunc the ball ended up on Ollie stick and he hit the ball and like a bouncing bomb it found the back of the goal.

The next 65 minutes was a calamity of poor basics, lack of communication and sloppy marking allowing the aerial ball to be dominant and damaging. There was plenty of effort and endeavour to get back in to the game, but sadly, too many of these errors persisted and BBHC kept putting the ball in the back of the goal whether at a short corner or open play. One final consolation goal was scored by Rob Hughes in the second half after a 'well rehearsed' short corner routine saw him beat a man and strike the ball in at the near post beating the postman and the keeper.

This was clearly a game to forget and out of character for a team that has been performing so well. It will undoubtedly be the game that is recalled to ensure the same mistakes are not repeated. This will start next week versus Crawley 1s.
