3s Stuck in First Gear

The 3s, unbeaten in three, were in a confident mood for the trip down to Herne Bay, but circumstance would dictate that this was never going to be their day.

Quite simply, an awful week for availability followed by a traffic jam on the A2 would leave them at a disadvantage before they had even begun.

"Caught Cold" would be the best way to describe the performance, despite the efforts of Thomas Cleall, the ever willing VC to get the troops fired up pre-match in the short time they had to warm up because of the delay. Sure enough, it showed and David Forsyth perhaps typified the day, with every single one of his passes in the first half going to an opposition stick.

It was 2-0 by half time, and 4-0 shortly after the half, and if it wasn't for the excellent Sam Hannon, it could have been more. At that point however, the 3s woke up. If only that had been the way from the beginning this could have been a winnable game.

Nick Surry would score two goals, (he's started to fire them in!!) and 11 minutes still left, anything was possible, but alas it wasn't to be.

A great effort at the end no doubt. A tough week, and a shocking start to the match however, so there isn't much positivity for this one I'm afraid. Thanks to Tom Cooper and Andrew Moore who did well stepping in. MoM for Rhys Edwards who was probably the only one who played well for the entire 70.
