You can't honestly believe how proud I am.
I've said it on emails, texts and in all correspondence this week. But, man, am I pleased with that.
This performance was, quite simply, the best of the year for us, and I'm thrilled. Especially after the season we've had, it's well earned and well deserved.
Nick Surry, scored again. He missed a few sure, but he scored and he's been scoring for weeks now. That March Player of the Month of award was a no-brainer! That goal was the highlight of a dominant first half, where we should, and could have had 6. But unlike the season we've had so far, we wouldn't let in a soft goal - we would actually carry on!
David Forsyth scoring first with a cheeky little flick whilst the defender tried to handle it on the line. Would have been a flick if he didn't score anyway! Shortly after David Collington would score a screamer and possibly the goal of the season so far (bar my one against Burnt Ash of course), dribbling past the whole Holcombe team before smashing it into the net from the top of the D. Moments later it would be FOUR, when Oli Payne went clear to score.
James Florence had hardly a thing to do. Of course, the 3s would wobble. It's natural. Two late goals for Holcombe made us think twice, but fortune favoured the threes this week and the the sniper injury stopped all momentum and allowed the game to aimlessly conclude.
55 minutes of bliss. Well done lads. It's been a pleasure. Enjoy that last game of the year, we can do no better or worse than we are already. Play with the freedom you had in this one and you'll smash them. Very much enjoyed captaining you - despite the trials and tribulations. The future is bright.
