This was one of those days where a wasteful 3's should have been coming back with 3 points comfortably. Having dominated possession throughout the whole game, a number of wasteful chances went begging in the first half. O -O at half time and the rain finally easing off the 3's came out with a plan to remain patient and the goals will come.
Ram scored a drag flick to ease the pressure a bit, then the team imploded a little and started to get impatient. As passes went astray and trying to force the game, we all of a sudden found ourselves 2 - 1 down within a matter of moments.
With time running out we pushed for an equalizer, with a lovely move that resulted in the ball being driven along the base line, and across the goal for Ali to tap in to an empty net.
Tails in the wind and pushing for the winner, a lapse of concentration at the back, and all of a sudden a 2 vs 1 on Jason, left us 3 - 2 down with moments to go.
For a new team this was a lesson learnt that we need to continue to play the brilliant hockey we know we can, and be patient.
Onwards and upwards.
