3s see a return to winning ways

A seemingly endless availability crisis has seen underwhelming performances from the 3s over the past 2 weeks. Entering into this local derby the message was simple control the ball, control the game.

The 3s started strongly with and early goal against a weakened 9-man side from BromBecks and the game play had changed without knowing if reinforcements would soon arrive BEHC went on the attack pilling on the pressure while BromBecks threw every man behind the ball.
A congested first half ensued with BEHC moving the ball well round the back and through the midfield to open up the space but some sturdy defending from the travelling team meant BEHC where only to capitalise on their player advantage twice in the first half.

Half Time 2-0

A target was set of 4 goals in the second half and a clean sheet. BEHC again started well however a moment of hideous honesty from Fenno Outen deliberately kicking the ball to BromBecks forward to compensate a foul the umpires had not seen. BromBecks response to this honesty? A quick free hit and one-on-one against James Kelly calmly slotted home. A lesson learned let the umpires blow the whistle and take the good with the bad.

The BEHC structure began to falter as BEHC committed more and more men forward in the search of glory despite the cries and shrieks from centre back Michael Earnshaw. Fortunately, the positive work from the first half had tired the opposition enough that BEHC were able to calmly play the ball around for a number of well worked finishes from close range as well as a smartly finished reverse from Richard Archibald and a rocket to the top corner from James Hatcher.

BromBecks made a few counter attacks which were mostly calmly dispatched by the defence however on another day could have caused problems if BEHC don’t maintain their structure and discipline.
