You need to pass to a RED shirt.
The ball can't touch your feet.
Everyone knew that the match would be tough, and we struggled to break the ball out of our defensive half for the first ten minutes. But at about 20 mins, we got into our attacking circle. After a couple of opportunities, it was Daniel Blanchard who got a shot on, slightly lifted up and hit straight into the back of the goal, the beginning of a well-played match by Dan. Ten minutes later, Gore Court scored and we went into half time 1-1. Tom Conway in goal had a fantastic half, with great reaction times and superb saves. We were very thankful to have Tom goalkeeping for us.
One of the focuses of training at the start of the year was knowing where your teammates are, and looking around before you receive a pass. Instead, BOE took the ball, held on to it for too long, didn't look around and then passed straight to the opposition. There were far too many silly fouls, with more feet than one can remember.
It probably didn't improve much in the second half. Gore Court scored again, I think from a short corner. With about 15 mins to go they were playing the ball long whenever they could, to buy themselves time. Perfectly legitimate (and clever), but frustrating.
Gore Court played well. They were organised, they passed around and they waited for us to make mistakes. They were playing how we should have been playing, and how we played earlier in the season. Many thanks to Gore Court for providing two even-handed umpires, returning our favour from earlier in the season. Thomas Conway had another great second half, and ran away with the votes for man-of-the-match. We can still top the league depending on other teams' results, but it's now in Gore Court's hands.
