Blackheath L1s headed to Ashford for their penultimate game of the 2022/23 season, looking for another 3 points.

It was an early start and perhaps they shouldn’t have passed on those pre match egg baps as they got off to a slow start. Ashford earned themselves a short corner in the first few minutes and continued to pressurise for the next 10 but thankfully Blackheath’s strong defence kept them at bay. Blackheath had some good counter attacks but certain decisions didn’t go their way and half time came with the score still 0-0.

The second half started better for Blackheath and with a short corner earned Hannah stepped up to strike. Boom 1-0.

The lead wasn’t to last long though as a stick mistaken for a foot gave Ashford a short and unfortunately a goal.

A frustrating second half ensued and the final whistle blew with the game still level.
