A Game of 2 Halves

A mediocre warm up led to what seems to be a classic 2022/23 season L1s start to the game - some nice play, dominated the half, created some chances, defended well but didn't capitalise & despite much tippy-tappy dribbling skills from Vicky P on the right flank & some great clearances from Ella & Stan at the back, we ended the half a goal down, much to the annoyance of everyone involved. Sally was green carded for an overzealous tackle which saw us close the half with 10 players which was when the cheap goal crept in.

Words were had. Jules expressed himself. Whatever these words were, worked. Within 5 minutes into the 2nd half, Blackheath were now 2-1 up. The first goal coming from a goal mouth scramble which Evie finally secured. The second goal came within a minute of the first, from a very well crafted short corner with Hannah putting into action her powerful sweep from the top. The rest of the 2nd half saw much of what had gone before, domination across majority of the pitch. A second goal for Evie came from some positive open play, & the team went on to hold it tight til the final whistle. Job done. Another 3 points in the bag.
