In a gripping game today, the team started off somewhat haphazard but against the run of play, Wanni made a formidable run down the right, leading to a goal-mouth scramble where Vicky P thankfully found the net. Afew threats on goal by the oppo were equally matched with some diving saves by keeper Sarah. Continuing to apply the pressure, Wanni charged down the middle, a pass to Butler who neatly setup Annie, who scored a screamer from the top of the D. With a nice 2-0 lead at half-time, the team looked a little tired.

The oppo rallied back, scoring 2 quick goals to bring things level. Blackheath were not about to let the game out of their grips. Stan's short corner, with Butler's deflection, seemed like a textbook move, but fate intervened, denying the team a crucial goal. Despite the setback, soon after Annie unleashed a top strike during another short corner, bringing the score to 3-2.

With just 6 minutes remaining, the oppo shattered the dream by scoring the final equalizer. The team, carrying a few injuries and missing their usual screen combo, fought valiantly but sadly couldn't secure the win.
