Blackheath started strong, pushing forward with intensity and working hard as a team. The pressure paid off early, with Amelia Huggett scoring on a solo run to put us 1-0 up and setting the tone for what would be a game filled with drama, determination, and more defensive short corners than anyone asked for. Soon after, Vicki Butler added another goal, giving us a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Briefly going down to 10 players as Felicity got a green card we kept our own and keep the score to 2-0.
The second half was more challenging, more pressure from Sevenoaks. Sevenoaks capitalised on a short corner managing to score and bring the game to 2-1. Lotta received a green card but that didn't phase us. Blackheath responded quickly to their goal, with Lotta counter attacking, passing to Vicki who set up Amelia for her second goal, securing a 3-1 victory. Jules arriving just in time to see the great goal.
Despite persistent pressure and numerous short corners for Sevenoaks, our defense held strong. A well-earned win, and of course no victory is truly complete without one of Sally's legendary cakes. Happy birthday Vicki!!
