Blackheath & Elthamians 1s vs Burnt Ash 1s
Blackheath & Elthamians began strongly, dominating the first quarter with plenty of possession and pressure in Burnt Ash’s defensive circle. Several good opportunities were created, keeping the opposition under sustained pressure.
At 10 minutes Burnt Ash won a short corner, coming close to scoring, but BEHC struck first when Annie finished well from open play in the 14th minute, assisted by Vicky on a great through ball into the D.
Despite Annie forcing a save from the opposition soon after, Burnt Ash responded clinically. They converted a short corner at 27 minutes (1–1) and added another from a set piece at 33 minutes to take a 2–1 lead into half-time.
The second half was tightly contested. Vicky’s lifted reverse strike was almost deflected in by Nicole, and Annie’s strike soon after was well saved. A slick short-corner routine between Alex and Nicole was also only narrowly denied. Laura also had some great shots, narrowly missing the goal to make the opposition sweat. Burnt Ash, however, extended their advantage from a breakaway in the 29th minute, making it 3–1.
The closing stages saw Kyveli pull off a brilliant save in the 34th minute, tipping the ball onto the post to prevent a fourth goal. It was ultimately a harsh scoreline that did not reflect the quality and intensity of Blackheath’s performance across the match.
Final Score: Burnt Ash 3 – 1 Blackheath & Elthamians
