On a grey autumn day, Blackheath fell to a 3–1 defeat against a strong Marden side in a competitive and spirited match.
Marden started sharply, applying early pressure and scoring twice in the first half. Blackheath responded with determination, putting together some good passages of play and working hard defensively despite the setback.
After the break, Marden extended their lead with a third goal, but Blackheath refused to give in. Their persistence was rewarded when Nicole produced a composed finish to pull one back. Her energy, composure, and overall contribution throughout the match earned her Player of the Match.
There was also a memorable moment when Flick picked up DOD after an unfortunate collision with the opposition goalkeeper.
Overall, Blackheath showed resilience, teamwork, and plenty of positives, but Marden’s organisation and clinical finishing proved decisive on the day.
