Good news everyone - it’s my turn for the match report again, so settle in for the highlights...
The first half was… let’s call it “controlled and steady,” with neither side creating major threats - no shorts, no shots, and not much to write home about.
The Women's 1s are used to playing with no subs so we may actually perform better when relying on pure grit and a hint of chaos!! However, half-time brought a constructive team chat, and the general consensus was that it might be time to push for a short corner or perhaps even a goal - a bold strategy (ha!), but we committed to it...
And it worked!
Just 30 seconds into the second half, we turned over the ball, and the ever‑composed Jilly won us a short corner. A big shoutout to Sarah in goal for calling to do a short one to me and slap across to Vicky - a well worked routine and 1 - 0 to us!

Annie scored a stunning halfway‑line goal… which sadly didn’t count, but we appreciated it!
Maddie had a fantastic game until cramp decided to make an untimely appearance.
Wanni attempted some creative persuasion around the POM voting. Nice try - but no.
Nicole continues her bold commitment to fake tan. We support the confidence.
Annie and Sally returned from their holidays early to play - huge thank you.
Alice, Alex, and Kath were away this week, and we’ll excuse Kyveli for being “weak in the knees.”
All in all, a great team effort, a deserved win, and plenty to build on for next week.
