Slip date cobwebs didn't stop BEHC L1s

BEHC L1s faced the tough and physical Old Bords on Saturday. They brought their A-game from the off while BEHC took a little longer to brush off the slip date cobwebs.

With a number of the squad members absent - chatting fish or sunning themselves in warmer climates over the half term hols - the rest of the L1s pulled together and got stuck into the battle that was the next 70 minutes.

Hard tackles and intense play gave BEHC most of the possession but were unable break down Old Bord's solid defence. "A short corner" you say? No, no. "It's a sixteen." WHAT? HOW? Tempers were high.

Finally following a run of positive attacks, a well placed slap top D from CM Sally was expertly deflected home by Jenna giving BEHC the lead just before half time.

BEHC started the second half determined to increase their lead. Old Bords, however, were equally gunning to score forcing BEHC back into their half. Ceri eased the pressure with some super strength aerials and Sarah MB made some nail biting saves to maintain the team's fantastic defence record.

After wave upon wave of attacks by silky skills Charlie, she was finally able to break through into the circle. Smashed from the top of the D, Jenna was on hand to deflect the rebound. The ball hit the back board and BEHC were two nil up.

Digging deep to keep Old Bords at bay, BEHC secured their sixth win.

An 8km run and two mighty goals saw Jenna awarded MoM.

Confusion got the better of George and as DoD, donned the banana.
