BEHC recover well after going 1-0 down in the first 10 minutes to take the game.

Ladies 1st XI played Sevenoaks 4s at home on Saturday in a game that seemed to take BEHC by surprise.

Caught off-guard by an early goal from a fast-paced counter attack, BEHC found themselves on the back foot for the first time this season.
But not long after, a well-worked move down the right-hand side saw things start to go BEHC’s way. Sue’s brilliant swing hit on the end of a rebound shot took the score to 1-1.

The goal galvanised the opposition who pressed high and made BEHC work hard to hold on to the ball.

BEHC managed to weather the storm until half-time then returned to the pitch with new-found determination after a few home truths from Coach Jen at the break.

Better communication in this half. Some pressure in defence but good covering runs and a few cracking clearances from Sarah MB kept the score equal.

With fewer than 10 minutes left to play, Charlie “3D-skills” Brown found the back of the net to give BEHC the lead.

Now one up, BEHC settled into a better rhythm; attacking more confidently with quick and accurate passes. New target has to be to play that way for more than the final 10 minutes…

Final score 2-1 to BEHC. Next week Ladies 1st IX welcome Cliftonville to College Meadow.

MoM: Charlie (goal scorer; good work up front)
DoD: Charlie (head-butting a uni friend in the oppo; top bins bragging at mid-week team social)
