‘The one they’d wish to forget’
The game was one they’d rather forget,
A trip up Bas and their first beasting yet.
The game started with the blow of a whistle,
A ball, a slap and (unfortunately), no tickle.
Jenna and Sue did the team proud,
Two goals back of the net, 3D and loud.
We’ll skip over the series of goals conceded,
And mention our man-of-the-match who was much needed.
She ran the defence, logged, tackled and saved,
Her commitment to the game never did waive.
Unlike our resident d**k of the day,
A veteran of the award, some may say.
She lined up the ball for the perfect hit,
But crippled the captain, f**k s**t s**t s**t.
As the last whistle blew, the team signed with relief,
Thank god that was over, now for a pint or a reef.
At the end of the day, when all said and done,
It was a day out for the troops and a reason to run.
Coach A has big plans for Monday night at the pitch,
To up our game lots and skills to enrich.
But for now, we shall forget and enjoy a good drink,
For it was just one game, not to stress or overthink.
MOM: Sarah. You were excellent.
