TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
An 8 - 2 win for the L1’s against Ashford.
The Ladies 1’s travelled away to Ashford and secured a well-deserved win. The team had faith in their tactics given to them by new Head Coach Jules. Everyone stuck to the game plan and it paid off as almost all the goals were scored from open play.
Excellent runs were made down the right hand side of the pitch, and defensively the team contained Ashford well as they tried to switch the ball. The team kept their heads as the opposition made some questionable tackles, hooked several sticks, and shot dangerously in front of goal well after the whistle was blown.
The score at half time was 5 – 1 and the game finished 8 – 2 which showed the team didn’t take their foot off the gas and get complacent. Goal scorers were: Sue Moore x 5, Emma Huxley x 2, and Vicky x 1.
Carlotta won Player of the Match (POM) as she made some fab interceptions and worked hard in both attack and defence. Sue came in close second for POM putting 5 in the back of the net, great commitment as always in front of goal.
DoD went to Vicky for eating a bacon and egg bap before playing. A great breakfast choice normally but with an hour to go perhaps a little too close to the start of the game (however she did score so perhaps she needs one every week ha ha). Alex had a lucky escape from DOD after shouting at Hannah in the second half to “RELEASE THE BALL” in a tone only a sister can get away with!
Keep up the good work ladies.
