It was a sunny but chilly morning in March, when the BEHC L2s welcomed Gore Court to the Eltham College pitches.
The match started and both teams were out for the win. When the ball was in our possession, in our defensive half, we made great use of our transfer, moving the ball from one side to the other and up the pitch. Unfortunately, a Gore Court player intercepted a pass, and they ended up scoring from that. Zoe did really well and defended the goal the best she could, but the other team had scored from a tap in on the post. Later on in the first half, Nell got the ball in the D and shot it into the back on to the goal, however the ref saw it touch her foot beforehand, therefore it was disallowed. There was one more disallowed goal, as the ball was hit from outside the D, to Laura, however the ball barely skimmed her stick and passed the goalie, and the ref said that it hadn’t touched. Despite this, Laura ended up scoring us a goal! (Shyla tried to slap it in the goal, where it was going anyways, and missed!) After this goal, Gore Court were more ball-hungry than they were before, and unfortunately scored another goal.
The effort put in and work done by the L2’s was excellent, regardless of the scoreline.
