BEHC 2. (2-1) Sevenoaks 4’s

Another win for the Ladies 2s! After a pep talk from Maddie and news of a total of 3 subs the 2s were raring to go. Just as we were ready to warm up news broke that Nell had injured herself in her morning netball match (DOD worthy) meaning the subs count dropped to 2. The 2s being the resilient team they are took this in their stride and prepared to warm up - practicing some short corners which were looking strong!

The whistle blew and the game begun. Just 10 minutes in and the 2s were looking good. We managed to get into their D and a push from Shyla onto a Sevenoaks player’s foot saw us win a short corner. We decided on a Tick-Tock. The ball was injected to Hannah M and slipped to Laura and back to Hannah and slapped into the corner. The keeper managed to save it but luckily Alice was on the post and tapped it into the goal. 1-0!! We became slightly complacent and just 5 minutes later Sevenoaks had levelled the score to 1-1 after a break away. However, the 2s were not going down without a fight. We had a few more chances at scoring - including one reverse shot nearly knocking Nicole out but thankfully her reflexes were one step ahead.

10 minutes before the end of the 1st half the 2s performed some lovely team hockey - triangles, transfers, 1-2s you name it. Alice had the ball at the top of the D and slipped it to Sue on the baseline who then tapped it back to Alice on the P spot. She hit the ball into the corner and sealed the score to 2-1.

After a half time pep talk preparing for a hard fight the Ladies 2s came out ready for the win. The second half maintained the energy of the first 35 minutes with a few break aways and shots at goal while Zoe at the other end managed to keep out all Sevenoaks goals. No more goals were scored in the second half from either team finishing the game at a respectable 2-1 to Blackheath.
