It was a challenging match for BEHC as we faced Sittingbourne, a team that certainly made things tough for us from the start. The game quickly became a physical contest, with our players showing resilience in the face of some intense moments.
Sittingbourne took the lead in the first half, but we quickly responded. Emily got us back on level terms with a well-timed deflection, following a brilliant setup from Freya, who worked the ball down the line and delivered a perfect cross into the D. Great teamwork all around!
In the first half, Jen was called over by the umpire for a chat after a bit of back-and-forth with the opposition, who didn’t hesitate to voice their opinions throughout the game. But we kept our focus and didn’t let it distract us.
The second half saw some more tough moments, with Marnie being on the receiving end of a rugby-style tackle (definitely not in the rulebook!) and, unfortunately, Marianna suffering a dislocated shoulder after a heavy collision. But even with these setbacks, our team stayed strong and continued fighting.
The game ended 1-1, and while it wasn’t an easy match, our determination shone through.
